It is with great sadness that Soccer Laduma has learnt about the death of former National Soccer League (NSL) PRO Abdul Bhamjee.

The legendary football administrator died on Monday night after a long illness and he was 82 years old.

During his time working in the league, Bhamjee was credited for the creation of FNB Stadium in 1987, among some of his achievements in football in Mzansi.

He also played a pivotal role in the formation of the NSL from the old National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) in 1985.
