Patrick Mayo has been fired by Chippa United after his son, Khanyisa, agreed to move to SuperSport United next year.
Mayo Jnr has been a revelation in recent months, bursting onto the scene with Amajimbos in the African U17 Championships qualifiers and continuing his scoring form in the Multichoice Diski Challenge for the Chilli Boys.
However, it has now been revealed that Mayo, 16, has agreed to join SuperSport at the end of 2014, a decision that has infuriated Chippa so much that they will not field him, or his brother Khanyisile, again and have fired his father, Patrick, who was working with the club's reserve team.
Mayo will no longer be able to play for Chippa's MDC team, and with him only set to join Matsatsantsa in January, he may be forced to spend some time training on his own.
The Siya crew has attempted to track down Mayo Snr, however up to now his phone has rung unanswered.
