The clash was part of the Siyabonga Nkosi Youth Festival and took place at the the Amajuba College Stadium.
Chiefs went ahead when defender Nzama slotted home after collecting a pass from current assistant coach, Doctor Khumalo.
The KZN legends then managed to equalise before the halftime break, before Tshepo Molatedi slotted home from close range to restore Chiefs' lead in the second half.
However, the KZN side managed to secure an equaliser to ensure both sides earn a share of the spoils but Nzama felt Chiefs could have done better.
"It was overall a good game," Nzama told the club's official website. "We could have done better, especially in the second half. We lost concentration."
The former Chiefs right-back expressed his delight at getting on the score-sheet.
"I was excited! There was a good build-up on the left. Doctor provided the final pass and I finished." he added.
Meanwhile, Wellington Manyathi says the players always need to care about winning when representing Chiefs.
"It was a nice game," Manyathi said.
"Our conditioning as a team is a concern. We must care to remain winners whenever representing the Kaizer Chiefs Brand."
