Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi and Head of Scouting and Recruitment Thembela ‘Tera’ Maliwa were spotted in Tanzania on Wednesday, where they attended the Premier League clash between Simba SC and Singida Black Stars at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Their presence has fuelled speculation that the club remains serious about bolstering its squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Simba SC forward Denis Kibu believed to be one of their key targets.

Chiefs have been monitoring the dynamic attacker, and sources suggest that Nabi and Maliwa’s visit was partly aimed at getting a closer look at the player in a competitive setting.
While Kibu was not in the starting lineup during Simba’s narrow 1-0 win – secured by a first-half goal from Steven Mukwala – insiders indicate that the Chiefs duo were still keen on observing several players.
“Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi and the club’s chief scout Tera Maliwa were recently in Tanzania and part of their visit included watching the match between Simba SC and Singida Black Stars. One of the players that Chiefs have been following is Denis Kibu, and they hoped to see him in action. There’s a possibility he could be brought in next season,” a source told the Siya crew.
“There might have been other players the Chiefs technical duo were there to watch closely.”
With the club undergoing a major rebuilding phase, the trip to Tanzania appears to be part of a broader strategy to strengthen the squad with fresh, high-potential talent from across the continent.
