The reserves begin the 2015/16 edition of the Multi-Choice Diski Challenge against Jomo Cosmos on Sunday, September 6, while on the same day the U19s start their SAB League campaign with a trip to Jabulani Vultures. The U17s will start their promotional league later in the year.

In the last two years players such as Hendrick Eckstein, Zitha Macheke, Chris Matombo, Andisiwe Mtsila and Siboniseni Ngcobo have been promoted from the development structures to the first team.

"By the end of this month all the teams will be ready for action. The development structures are in good condition and gradually we are about to reach the expected excellence. Chairman Kaizer Motaung has a dream and we have a mandate to meet his expectations," head of youth development, Kenneth 'Conti' Kubheka told the Chiefs official website

"We are focusing on developing the players. However, we also want to get promoted to the ABC Motsepe League, because that will bridge the gap between the first team and the development sides."

"We are happy to see Ekstein getting a run in the first team. Macheke and Matombo are on loan at Chippa United and it was good to see them getting game time last weekend," he added.
