Gaxa's professional football career has on hold since the end of last season, when Amakhosi announced that they would not be renewing the player's contract.
The statement came as a surprise to the South African football fraternity as the club had previously announced that they had extended the right back's spell at the club. In October 2015, Chiefs confirmed that the 32-year-old had put pen to paper on new two-year deal and revealed that his new contract would see him stay at Naturena until at least June 2018.
As a result, Gaxa and Chiefs have been at loggerheads since the end of the 2015/16 campaign, with a resolution yet to be agreed on. The case was initially brought to arbitration, and thereafter was brought to a PSL DRC. After several postponements, the DRC met again this week, and it has now been revealed that the case is expected to be concluded in November.
A Siya source explained: "The parties will submit their heads by the 7th of November and then it should be finalised sometime in November."
As revealed by the Siya crew earlier today, Gaxa is currently training with the MTN8 champions Bidvest Wits in a bid to maintain his fitness levels under the guidance of coach Gavin Hunt.
