Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed plans to save the KwaZulu-Natal club amid reports he could sell.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit businesses hard and it has been not been any different for football as the country has been on lockdown for over a year.
With reports suggesting the club could be sold, the chairman says plans are in motion to keep the club in KZN, which could include selling some of their star players.
"Look we are in a process of finding sponsors and save the club to remain in Maritzburg and KwaZulu-Natal, we won't let them down," Kadiodia told the Siya crew.
"Unfortunately, we can't stop players from going because we need money so we will have to sell them if there's good offers."
After avoiding relegation for another season, Kadodia is planning to give coach Ernst Middendorp all the support he needs including assembling proper squad in good time to have good pre-season.
"The 2020/21 was very difficult and challenging, we had to change coaches early because we didn't start well. For next season we will try to make sure we support new coach with good squad to get a good preparation," he added.
