"This is a 57-year old Festival because the first time it was held was in 1966 in Dakar in Senegal under then President Léopold Sédar Senghor. It is called FESTAC Africa, which means an African festival of arts and culture. As the continent of Africa was going through liberation, the four fathers and four mothers of Africa met to discuss how they would encapsulate the movement. That's how they decided on the origin of this festival. This festival is also to encourage people to tour Africa and to be involved in the tourism business. Junior Khanye is getting involved through another important part of tourism which is sport tourism. If you think about it, when Sundowns go to Egypt to play Al Ahly, there are followers who accompany the team there to watch the game," confirmed Lehlohonolo Peega, who is one of the organisers.

"Yes, they might be there for the game but it is also tourism. With the love for sport in the continent, sports tourism is something we need to be really active on. There will be a soccer camp and fan park and through our partners there will also be the involvement of Bundesliga. There will be several speaks that will be advising soccer players on to handle their careers and so on. Junior will be sharing his experiences as a professional footballer with the upcoming soccer stars. There will also be a coaching program that e will be doing there," said Peega.

The festival will take place at the Arusha International Conference Centre in Tanzania from May 21-27.
