As the 2020/21 domestic campaign comes to a short break, Jan Olde Riekerink shared a thoughtful message to everyone in these challenging times.
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone across the globe due to the COVID-19 pandemic's severe effects on lives and the economy.

However, while we continue to battle through these challenging times there is hope that the new year will bring some light at the end of the tunnel.
Speaking to the media after his side's 3-2 victory over TS Galaxy, Riekerink shared a thoughtful message ahead of his trip back to Holland to visit his family during the festive season.
"I am going back to Holland for a few days to see my family after more than one year, that is for me personally, I have two daughters so I am happy that I can finally go back after one year and see them again," he said.

"It starts with my feeling but I am not the only one and people have worse things so (I have sympathy) for everyone in this time who have difficult moments and even not have jobs and money to buy things, so I wish everybody at least a happy Christmas and a Happy New Year and let's hope that there is light on the horizon and everybody can make the year 2021 that we can come back to normality.
"Starting with my feeling and ending with the feelings of everyone else, I wish them the biggest warmth that I can give and keep helping each other in these circumstances."
