How Chiefs Could Finally Sign Salum

How Chiefs Could Finally Sign Salum

One of Kaizer Chiefs' targets has reportedly been offered a new bumper contract.

Insiders close to both clubs and the player have indicated that this situation is believed to have open the door for Chiefs to potentially sign Salum as a free agent.

The Siya sources added that the player has expressed a desire to reunite with coach Nasreddine Nabi at Amakhosi.

"If nothing happens regarding his contract between now and June then Chiefs could sign him as a free agent. He is believed to have rejected the offer to extend his contract at Azam and we know he is interested to join coach Nabi. So, if Chiefs still want him they could sign him for free this time around," the insider told Soccer Laduma.

A second insider stated that coach Nabi is still aiming to add two or three attacking players, including a striker, for the new season.

"There is still a possibility of Feisal (Salum) for next season but it will depend on the other players that the club is looking at in those positions. You know, there is still a lot of time between now and the end of the season and a lot can still happen. But yes, if he doesn't renew his contract and the team wants to sign him then he will obviously join as a free agent," the second source revealed.

27-year-old Salum joined Azam FC from Yanga SC and was coached by both Nabi and his assistant Cedric Kaze, who are now at Chiefs. Soccer Laduma contacted both Chiefs and Azam for comment, but there was no response at the time of publication.
