Solomons' Chiefs Future Impacted By Three Players?

Solomons' Chiefs Future Impacted By Three Players?

With Reeve Frosler poised to sign a new contract, Njabulo Blom playing regularly as a right-back, and youngster Sfiso Timba nearing promotion, Dillan Solomons' future at Kaizer Chiefs is in question.

Insiders at the club have indicated that ongoing injury issues may jeopardise the former Moroka Swallows player's position at Naturena.

The Siya sources added that management is concerned about his injuries, which limit his time on the field, arguably impacting the team's strategy and consistency.

"For now his contract ends in June 2026 but because of the continued injuries the club is set to release him at the start of next season. They know he is a very good right back but he doesn't play too many games in a row without getting injured and that disturbs the club's plans on who to play or use in each and every game. That's why his injuries will determine his future at the club so as things stand now it doesn't look good, " the insider stated.

A second source explained that the decision to potentially release Solomons is influenced by the desire to retain Njabulo Blom and promote Timba from the DDC.

"All the involved parties in recruiting players, like the scouts, the technical team and management are believed to have agreed that it's in the best interest of the team to keep Blom, promote Timba and release Solomons mainly for next season and that's what the team is working on now, such that the January transfer window period is as good as done," the second source stated.

The 28-year-old right-back from Cape Town joined Chiefs from Moroka Swallows in the 2022/23 season, initially showing promise. However, injuries have limited his appearances as he currently recovers from another injury.

Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment but received no response at the time of publication.
