Former Maritzburg United midfielder, Heinrich Isaacks, says he is hopeful of landing a deal with Bloemfontein Celtic.
Soccer Laduma broke the news of the Namibian international having surfaced at Phunya Sele Sele in the hope of winning a contract, after he did not have his deal renewed with the Team of Choice. Ernst Middendorp is still looking to bolster the team with a few more experienced players in key positions ahead of next season and will not hesitate to sign Isaacks if he impressed.
Celtic have already signed Bevan Fransman, Sici Shelembe and Ruben Cloete, while having released a couple of players in anticipation of the 2014/15 campaign.
The 29-year-old player revealed, "Yes I have been training with the club, as it is important to keep fit as a player. I am hoping that everything will go well. They have not said anything to me yet, so I wouldn't know whether I'm going to get signed, but I will continue doing my best."
Isaacks worked under Middendorp at Maritzburg during the 2012/13 season and the German mentor is understood to want to have a proper look at him to see if he has what it takes to don the Celtic jersey and fit in with the rest of the charges.
