Here's something you don't see every day. Former Bafana Bafana and Bidvest Wits defender Buhle Mkhwanazi has shared the details of his multimillion-rand contract with the Clever Boys between 2019 and 2021.

He is currently clubless after parting ways with SuperSport United at the end of June, following his decision to not get vaccinated, a mandatory requirement for all MultiChoice employees.

However, at the peak of his powers, Buhle Mkhwanazi was raking in millions.

The 32-year-old defender recently took to Instagram to reveal his earnings during his time with the now-defunct Wits, where he was understood to be one of the club's highest earners at the time.

Mkhwanazi's contract in part read:

"The Club employs the Footballer as a professional association football player, with effect from date of signature of this agreement until 30 June 2021, with options as set out hereunder.

The Club shall pay to the Footballer, monthly in arrears, on the last day of every month, a gross salary of:

R 195 000.00 from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019,

R 175 000.00 from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020;

R 190 000.00 from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021."

This means that in his first year, Mkhwanazi earned R2.3 million, R2.1 million in his second year and R2.3 million in his final year as a player.

In three years, Mkhwanazi earned roughly R6.7 million!

These figures exclude the former Bafana Bafana player's signing on fee, which were scratched out from the initial post.

"I remember I used to boast about the numbers on my contract not knowing that my soul was suffering, the day Jesus Christ visited me I never knew that all this will be taken away from me by him just for my soul to be saved. Today I boast in my weaknesses but with a soul that is prospering, it is better to hear the voice of God than being rich without knowing that your soul is in danger. I urge many to be rich in all things, receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior and u shall recover all 1 day," he added along with the post.
