Last month the Siya crew broke the news that the right back had opened up talks with the club and it has subsequently been confirmed that they had reached an agreement on a new deal.
A Siya source has now revealed that 'Pa' is understood to be pocketing in the region of R280 000 a month as a result of the new deal.
The salary package is said to include the signing on fee but excludes bonuses for winning matches. The deal comes to around R6.7 million over the two years which keeps him at Naturena until the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
Gaxa's new deal means that he is one of the highest earners in the league as well as at Chiefs, joining the likes of Itumeleng Khune, Tsepo Masilela, Bernard Parker and Siphiwe Tshabalala.
"He is now amongst the top paid players, not only at Chiefs, but in the PSL as well. The new contract he has signed is in total worth just under R7 million. It's made up of the signing-on fee and the salary," the source told Soccer Laduma.
"It's a good deal considering his age and what he brings to the team. They also look at the value and experience he adds to the club."
