Gallants were bolstered by the return of Thabo Mnyamane, alongside recalls for Tshepo Gumede, Sibusiso Kumalo from their penalty shootout win over Orlando Pirates while Chippa recalled Thokozani Sekotlong to partner Bienvenu Eva Nga upfront.

Apart from Gallants' cup run, they came to this game having won three consecutive games in the Premiership after edging Stellenbosch 1-0.
