Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso Gaxa has revealed that the team are ready to take on the challenge of facing Free State Stars in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals. The match takes place at Charles Mopeli Stadium on Sunday (20 October) at 15h00.
Gaxa told the club's official website, "Everyone wants to beat the champions. It has been a roller coaster for us at the start of this season but we have started picking up. We are not far from the log leaders. We are fifth on the log and only goal difference separates us from the leaders. Coming to this season, we knew it was not going to be easy. It has not been smooth but we will continue to work hard."
A similar sentiment was expressed by Chiefs midfielder, Josta Dladla, in edition 843 of Soccer-Laduma. Dladla said, "Stars are a good team and we are going there knowing that it will be an open game. We need to win and proceed to the semi-finals. We want to win this trophy as we didn't win it last season."

Gaxa also talked about some of the challenges teams can expect when playing against Stars.
"At Chiefs it is not about the opponents. We respect Stars but we are focused on Chiefs. We know that this is a massive game not for us only but for them as well. We are looking forward to the challenge and to play good football. They are a good side and they also play good football. On Sunday we will do what we normally do best and fight for the club."
He added, "Irrespective of the conditions, we will focus on ourselves. You can't change the weather and the pitch conditions but one thing you can change is applying ourselves on the day, play good football and beat our opponents."
