Sundowns, meanwhile, failed to extend their record of finishing top in the last six season as they settled for second in Group B behind AS FAR.
The Brazilians have been drawn against Esperance in the last eight.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch will take on defending champions Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals.
