Glasgow Celtic's head coach, Brendan Rodgers, has finally spoken out about the signing of Rivaldo Coetzee from Ajax Cape Town, although insisted that it's not a done deal yet. Speaking after Celtic – who beat Astana 8-4 on aggregate – secured their spot in the group stages of this year's UEFA Champions League, Rodgers spoke to BT Sport about the pending arrival of the Bafana Bafana international. He said, "Well I believe there's been an agreement. There's a medical and whatnot to go through. He's an outstanding young player that we think can help us, but it's not complete yet." He's obviously in his pre-season as well, but we'll see. It's not just for the now, it's for the longer term. "He's a player that can come straight in, he's a full international player so has great qualities - good defensive qualities - and if we can get that done then it'll be a very good signing for us." Coetzee is expected to finalise his move to Scotland within the next week.
