The Siya crew has been reliably informed that Bloemfontein Celtic have decided to exercise the option in the contract of one of their star strikers.
Since being slapped with a two-window transfer ban by FIFA over the unfair dismissal of former goalkeeper and club captain Patrick Tignyemb, the club has been putting measures in place to hold onto their best players for the foreseeable future.
So far, the likes of Jackson Mabokgwane, Ndumiso Mabena, Tebogo Khasipe and Shadrack Kobedi have all either extended or signed new deals with Siwelele.
Now, the crew has been informed that the club has exercised the one-year option in attacker Harris Tchilombou's contract.
The Congo international's contract with the Phunya Sele Sele was due to expire at the end of this month, but the crew has learnt that he will stay on for at least another season.
This was confirmed to the crew by the player's representative Palesa Mkhize of Pulse Player's Management.
"Harris has extended with Celtic for another year. He hasn't had any problems, so he is happy to continue at the club," Mkhize explained.
The 32-year-old joined Siwelele back in 2019, following the relegation of Free State Stars to the GladAfrica Championship and to date has managed five goals in 38 appearances for the Mangaung outfit.
