Siwelele's woes began with Alfred Ndengane receiving his marching orders after picking up his second yellow card in the 66th minute of the game.
With less than 25 minutes of the game remaining, Celtic defender, Wandisile Letlabika delayed in clearing the ball from the Celtic box and instead played it back to keeper Patrick Tignyemb, with the pass being intercepted by Mamelodi Sundown's attacker Cuthbert Malajila who laid the fall for Elias Pelembe to score the goal.
This sparked an altercation between Tignyemb and Letlabika with a shoving between the two men needing teammates to separate them.

"I personally went to the supporters together with the players and management to apologise for the loss. We lost as a team and no individuals were responsible for the defeat. In a match, mistakes can work for you or against you, today, we were on the receiving end when I took over this team I said that our supporters deserve better and they should not celebrate mediocrity. I understand their pain and promise our fans and followers that we will do better," said Tshabalala to the club's official website.
