Against his former side, SuperSport United, AmaZulu head coach Cavin Johnson will aim to guide the KwaZulu-Natal outfit to their first victory of the new year for them to improve their position on the log.

Usuthu host Matsatsantsa at the King Zwelithini Stadium in KZN on Saturday. Johnson's side is on a seven-match winless run in the Absa Premiership, which has led to reports linking the mentor with an exit from the club.

"We haven't had results, but going to Saturday's game for us it's definitely a big try for us. The fact that we have not had a win in 2018.

"With a win, you see yourself somewhere else, with two losses and you are somewhere where you don't belong," Johnson told AmaZulu's official website.

Earlier this week, AmaZulu announced the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Camaldine Abraw.

"That is the nature of the league this season, we need to do something as players and coaching staff to turn around our fortunes. We have prepared well for this particular game against SuperSport. We have a new player (Abraw) who will probably be in the team to try and get goals for us.

"We believe in the structure we have put together, I think we have turned the corner when it comes to displaying the brand of football we want which will be synonymous with AmaZulu going forward.

"It's just that goals are not coming, but we have to ensure we do that properly because we also don't want to concede.

"This weekend is no exception and we will put our best forward and ensure we come out with something," concluded the coach.
