Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that club legend, Alex Bapela, has been tasked with coaching the team's Multichoice Diski Challenge side.

'Barnes' has been an assistant coach to Pitso Mosimane in the first team, and along with Manqoba Mngqithi contributed hugely while serving as 'Jingles's assistants, when Sundowns claimed the Absa Premiership title at the end of last season.
"Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach and club legend Alex Bapela has been named coach for the team that will participate in the inaugural MultiChoice Diski Challenge. He will be assisted by another legend in Michael Manzini, who will act as both assistant coach and team manager. The Brazilians will play their first match in Cape Town on 21 September at the Coetzenburg Stadium against Free State Stars," sundownsfc.co.za revealed.

The club also confirmed that Wendell Robinson is the goalkeeper coach for the side, and will also serve as the second assistant alongside Manzini.
