News reaching the Siya desk is that the club have cast their net wide in search of competent players to bolster their squad come the new season.
The Urban Warriors will be on the receiving end of a generous cash injection, courtesy of their sponsorship from mother club Ajax Amsterdam, with the purpose of assembling a quality squad who can challenge for various honours ahead of the new season.
The Cape-based side has enjoyed mixed success thus far in their campaign, having clinched the MTN8 trophy in September last year by defeating Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in the final.
However, since then it could be argued that Roger de Sa's side has seen a decline in form, which culminated in a winless streak of nine consecutive games in all competitions immediately after their cup success.
The Cape-based outfit's woes continued when they were prematurely dumped out of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 3-2 aggregate defeat to Angolan minnows, Sagrada Esperanca, in February.
With seven games left to be played in the PSL, De Sa will look to rally his troops and achieve a top eight-finish this season, as they currently occupy ninth position after having collected a mere 30 points from a possible 69.
The Siya crew has been informed of three potential developments at the Ikamva-based outfit, which includes an attempt to retain Bidvest Wits loanee Asive Langwe, as well as acquiring the services of University of Pretoria midfielder Thabiso Mosadi and Platinum Stars forward Eleazar Rodgers.
Having formerly been on the books of big-spenders Mamelodi Sundowns, Rodgers' wage demands would have to go under the hammer before he lands a deal, however it does look more likely that the talented Tuks player would be Ajax's best catch for the coming season.
