The Urban Warriors have opted against renewing the 29-year-old's contract, which leaves them with one less defender on their books as they approach the new season.
Ncube made only eight appearances in Roger De Sa's side, following a knee injury which kept him on the side-lines for Ajax for several weeks last season.
A source close to the player's dealings has revealed that Ncube received his clearance from the Cape Town outfit and is currently looking for a new club ahead of the 2016/17 PSL campaign.
However, with the player being a free agent, Ncube still has time and is not locked into having to make a move by 31 August.
With the window still in full swing, Ajax have announced three new signings in Eric Chipeta, Joachim Lupeta and Thabo Mosadi.
