Following confirmation of the club being sold to businessman Masala Mulaudzi, there's now an argument why Bidvest Wits players can walk away as free agents!
Mulaudzi has confirmed that he is awaiting approval from the Premier Soccer League to have his new team relocated to Venda and renamed, but prominent agent Mike Makaab has suggested that this could potentially alter the employment contract.

He has three players at Wits – goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo, defender Lorenzo Gordinho and attacker Terrence Dzvukamanja.
"We all know that in any industry, if I apply for a job or I am headhunted and employed in a certain geographical region – that is one of my terms of my employment," Makaab said.
Wits chairman Alan Fainman said last week in an announcement about the sale of the club, that existing players' contracts would not be affected.
It's in line with the NSL handbook rules regarding the acquisition of a new owner. But the agent has made a strong case why many players could become free agents and be furnished with their clearances in the coming months.

"If I am in Gauteng and have a family there, that's the place I want to live. If the company relocates, they can't terminate your contract, but they can give you the option of going with them to where they've relocated or let you move on. I know football is slightly different to the normal industry, but it is governed by the same laws. It's a material term of employment as I understand it," explained Makaab.
It will be interesting how this saga players out, with another argument that if Wits have not sold a player, those remaining will have to comply and relocate.
