Date: 02 November 2016
Venue: Moses Mabhida stadium
Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka FC played to a 0-0 draw in an Absa Premiership match at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Wednesday night.
Chiefs dominated the possession stakes in the opening half hour, but the Baroka defence stood firm and kept them at bay.
The Amakhosi's first real effort on goal came in the 31st minute when Erick Mathoho met a left-sided free-kick from Keagan Buchanan, but the defender's header went narrowly over the target.
Five minutes later Chiefs came close again when a long ball from Itumeleng Khune was flicked onto Edward Manqele, but his 14-yard shot from an acute angle was superbly saved by the Baroka keeper.
Chiefs continued to push forward in the final ten minutes of the half, but could not find the opening goal before the break.
Baroka came out strong in the second half and had the first real chance on goal in the 53rd minute with Sipho Moeti trying his luck from long range, but Khune produced a great acrobatic save to deny him.
In the 67th minute substitute Michelle Katsvairo came close to scoring when he met a Siphiwe Tshabalala corner-kick, but he headed inches over from close range.
Ten minutes later Marshall Munetsi made his way into the Chiefs box, but Khune was at his best yet again with another fine stop from 16-yards out.
Chiefs threw numbers forward in the final ten minutes of the game, but were unable to find the back of the net and had to settle for a share of the spoils.
