Kaizer Chiefs defender, Tsepo Masilela, went for scans on his leg yesterday after picking up a knock towards the end of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Township Rollers.
The 29-year-old left back picked up the knock in a collision with one of Rollers’ attackers, with the Amakhosi man suffering a kick to his leg.
Masilela now faces a race against time to be fit to face SuperSport United on Tuesday evening, and is still awaiting the results of his scan before seeing the extent of his injury.
The full back has played every single minute of the Amakhosi’s 2014/15 campaign so far, playing a vital role in their current unbeaten run as well as their MTN8 victory earlier in the season.
Baxter will be hoping that, when the club get Masilela’s results today, it will be revealed that the injury is not serious, however he may well be rested in any case given Chiefs’ heavy schedule over the next few weeks.
