FC Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi, has insisted he is not competing with Cristiano Ronaldo and revealed that he will sign his contract extension soon.
Messi, who was presented as new Gillette’s ambassador in Latin America, said he is not concerned about his place in the history and just focussed on winning.
"I'm not competing against Cristiano or anyone. I just do my job - I want to win titles,” he told reporters.
“I don’t know what my place in the history of the game will be, I’m just focussed on improving and winning more.”
The 27-year-old, who is close to putting pen to paper on a new deal, has been revived under new Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique, scoring six goals assisting further eight in all competitions so far.
"Luis Enrique gives me a lot of freedom on the pitch,” he added.
"I changed my way of playing this season because the other forwards play more in the centre now. Before we played with real wingers.
"I've always given assists but with other forwards playing more in centre, there are more passing options (for me) now.
“My contract renewal will be done quickly, there are no issues and I have no problems continuing here.”
