Sithole - A Loss For How Mine

News making its way to the Siya crew is that Simba Sithole’s How Mine coach, Philani Ncube, insists that the striker’s departure to Ajax Cape Town will have a negative impact on his team.

Speaking to Dailynews, the coach said Sithole’s absence will hamper his team’s 2014. However, the gold miners' coach, remained confident that his team has enough arsenal to challenge in the African Confederation Cup and the league.

Sithole, who was How Mine’s leading scorer last season with six goals, signed for the Urban Warriors last Friday after an impressive run for Zimbabwe at the Chan tournament which ended last weekend.

The former Masvingo Christian College student signed a two-year contract with the Ikamva-based outfit, and has joined the club despite waiting for his work permit.

“Well to be very honest with you I am very happy for him after I heard the news. He is a seasoned player. He was maturing but we wish him the best. As for How Mine, we’ll try and work on what we have. This is not the end of the world for us because if one door closes another one opens,” said Ncube.

Chikurupati, as the club is known, continues to prepare for their African Confederation Cup campaign. Ncube also revealed that they have brought in new players to beef up their squad in the wake of Sithole’s departure.

“We still have some good players in the team. We have just signed Godfrey Nguwudzawo from Harare City and Benjamin Marere from Dynamos. We are confident that we have the players who can deliver,” he said.

Meanwhile, interim Ajax Cape Town coach, Ian Taylor, had nothing but praise for the bustling Sithole, who is set to be the latest Zimbabwean to join the PSL team after Khama Billiat, Tafadzwa Rusike and Edzai Kasinauyo.
