Gallery: Nigeria & England Unveil New World Cup Kits

Nigeria and England have unveiled their new Nike home and away kits for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and while the Three Lions' shirts are more traditional, the Super Eagles' home strip has a very modern style.

The Super Eagles became the first African nation to book their 2018 World Cup ticket after Arsenal starlet Alex Iwobi scored the winner in their 1-0 victory over Zambia on 7 October 2017.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Lagos but grew up in England, is one of Nigeria's many young stars in a new, exciting generation.

As a consequence, Nike opted to design a modern home kit that draws inspiration from the 1996 Olympic-winning Nigeria side, with the motto: Naija, which defines future-focused optimism.

"When I first saw the new kit, I was like, 'Wow, this is sick! I need one now!'" Iwobi told Nike.

"I grew up in England, but Nigeria is my homeland. When I scored that goal, the players were dancing, the fans were playing trumpets and banging drums… there was just so much passion and energy.

"It is always an honour to wear the white and green. To compete this summer is not just our dream, it is also the dream of our fans. Together, we all represent Naija."

Nigeria's away kit has a more traditional design in the well-known dark green colours of the team.

Meanwhile, Nike also unveiled England's World Cup strips – a white home shirt with blue shorts, and a red away jersey with white shorts.

Both kits incorporate several representative symbols, such as a rose, the St. George's Cross and the Three Lions crest, while England's training kit has the most modern look.
