Davids has taken up the assistant coach role with Lokomotiv, where he will reunite with for Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer.
Zinnbauer has been with the Russian club since July after he left the Soweto giants in August 2021.
It's a major honor being a part of such a huge institution of Russian football. Lokomotiv Moscow is well known amongst South African fans as it was the club of the late Jacob Lekgetho many years ago. I am here to be part of the future success of the club and it all starts today. pic.twitter.com/98A1PItGkz

The German's departure saw Davids and Mandla Ncikazi take over as co-coaches for the remainder of the season, where the club finished sixth and reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Davids then parted ways with the Buccaneers at the end of the 2021/2022, but has now landed a job in the Russian top flight.
"It is a great honor for me to become a part of a big club, such a serious representative of Russian football. Lokomotiv Moscow is well known among fans in South Africa, because Jacob Lekheto used to play here. I came here to help the team succeed in the near future, " Davids said, as per the club's official website.
