Mamelodi Sundowns are back in town after playing a series of friendly games against some of the top Ghanaian sides in the West African country.
The Brazilians wrapped up their tour with a 2-0 win over Cape-Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs. Although the team played well as a collective, Pitso Mosimane will have been pleased Cuthbert Malajila's performances, who got to start in all the practice matches and managed to score a brace in the last game.
Having scored 11 league goals for Maritzburg United last season, the Zimbabwean marksman has been signed in an effort to bolster the team upfront, a department in which they came up short last season. Sundowns scored 31 goals in 30 league games during the 2012/13 campaign.
Ironically, as Malajila was making an impression on Mosimane in the friendly games, Katlego Mphela sat on the bench in all the matches, although it remains to be seen if this is a pattern that will continue in the coming season.
Sundowns open their PSL campaign with a game against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, August 4.
Sundowns fans, have your say! Who do you think will make the biggest impact at Sundowns this season – Malajila or Mphela?
