Free State Stars' Nyiko Mobbie is said to on the radar of selectors for the South African U23 national team after his impressive performances for the Bethlehem outfit.

The versatile player has been impressive with his high work-rate under Italian coach Giovanni Solinas at the Bethlehem club. The right-back was in the Ea Lla Koto side that defeated Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-finals of the Telkom Knockout on the weekend.
According to sources, the 22-year-old is one of the players that is being monitored for possible inclusion in the SA U23 side in the future.
"Nyiko Mobbie is knocking on the door of the South African U23 national team with his impressive performances for Free State Stars. He is a hardworking player with an advantage of height, skill and speed. He is also a good crosser of the ball," a source told the Siya crew.

The Shukundu-born player previously played for Stars' reserves. He was promoted to the first team, following the progress he made with club's MultiChoice Diski Challenge team.
