BK Hacken's sporting director, Sonny Karlsson, has confirmed in the Swedish media that Tefu Mashamaite has signed for SuperSport United, with the PSL side having also officially announced the deal.
The Siya crew reported earlier this morning that Matsatsantsa were expected to announce the capture of the former Kaizer Chiefs captain at their player announcement at 12h30 today, and the news of his return to South Africa has now been verified.
Karlsson confirmed Mashamaite's move to SuperSport to Fotboll Skanalen, while telling Expressen that the 31-year-old had grown homesicks in Europe, despite scoring in his last game for the club.
He said, "Sometimes life comes before football. He has his children in South Africa and is homesick.”
With the Swedish transfer window closed, Hacken's sporting director also added that they would not be replacing the 2014/15 Absa Premiership Player of the Season, and were happy with what they currently have available.
