The Absa Premiership’s Golden Boot Contenders
The new Absa Premiership season gets underway tomorrow evening as eight teams do battle on the 2016/17 opening day, but which strikers can make an early mark?
Mpumalanga Black Aces striker, Collins Mbesuma, managed to claim the golden boot in 2015/16 - with 14 strikes to his name – as he became the first player to ever win the award on two occasions.
Now, though, Aces have become Cape Town City, Mbesuma is playing for Highlands Park, and a new season is upon us for other forwards to take up the mantle.
The likes of Jeremy Brockie, Khama Billiat, Thobani Mncwango and Prince Nxumalo will all hope to have a shot at the prize after their performances last time out, while a new of other players will also have an eye on the accolade.
Who do you think will win the golden boot in 2016/17?
