The Ajax Cape Town family returned to pre-season training this week and top goal scorer Nathan Paulse was treated with extra care following his injury stricken campaign last time around.
With regards to the intensity of training the club took the cautious approach with the veteran striker but he has said he is not far off from training fully with the squad.
“It went well, everyone looks okay. They all looked after themselves in the holidays and we are excited to back,” he said after he was asked how the first day of training went.
When speaking about the extra care taken, he said: “I’ve been doing rehab throughout the off season. I’m about a week away from doing full training with the team. They obviously had to take their time with me but I’m feeling good.”
He also added that he is happy to impart his knowledge with the younger members in the squad after pledging his allegiance with the Urban Warriors.
“I’m excited to play alongside the youngsters and assist them. I’m glad to be back with my home club and especially to help the younger players,” he added.
