Kaizer Chiefs have decided against signing Togolese striker, Francis Koné Kouassi, who has now stopped training with the club.

According to Siya sources, the 23-year-old did not do enough to persuade head coach, Stuart Baxter, that he was worthy of a contract at the club, and he will now be forced too look elsewhere for a deal.

Chiefs have already snapped up Zimbabwe international, Ovidy Karuru, as well as young midfielder, Phakamani Mngadi, though are believed to still be in the market for players should the right ones become available.

The crew recently reported that the forward had attracted interest from Al Nasr SC, in the UAE Arabian Gulf League, who may now pursue a move for him now that he is no longer at Naturena.

Kouassi is believed to be a similar player to Chiefs’ other new signing, Siphelele Mthembu, though not up to the same level as the South African, one of reasons why they opted against signing him.
