Kaizer Chiefs captain, Itumeleng Khune, says that the PSL title is not out of reach, despite the Amakhosi recently handing Mamelodi Sundowns the upper hand.
Chiefs relinquished their spot on top of the league when they were beaten 1-0 by Sundowns earlier this month, and now find themselves three points behind the Brazilians.
Stuart Baxter’s side take on Polokwane City tomorrow night as they look to keep up the chase on Sundowns, and Khune says that they’re confident they can continue their pursuit.
Speaking to Chiefs’ official website, the goalkeeper said, "The league is still within our reach. We have to show the other title contenders that we are still in it by winning against Polokwane City. It is heading closer to the finishing line if you watch leagues around the world, it is tense for the teams chasing the league trophies.
“Who would have thought Liverpool (England) and Atletico Madrid (Spain) would be on top of their respective logs. One thing for sure is that we have to work extra hard to turn the tables and get maximum points.”
City host Chiefs at Peter Mokaba Stadium tomorrow night at 19h30.
