Orlando Pirates are believed to be monitoring the progress of young striker Eethe Khaukanani from Free State Stars.
The 21-year-old, who has been expected to be promoted to the first team at Ea Lla Koto, has been in impressive form for the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge side.
While the player’s promotion to Denis Lavagne’s side has been discussed at the Bethlehem outfit, sources have confirmed to the Siya crew that Pirates have been following his progress and been impressed with his high work-rate.
Khaukanani has scored three goals in two games for Stars in the MDC so far this season.
“Pirates are interested in Eethe Khaukanani from Free State Stars. There is a possibility that he might end up going to Pirates. The boy has been impressive in the MDC. He has scored three goals in two games. I know of two officials from Pirates who have been following the player in his progress. He is a quality striker who is good with the ball on the ground and is also a good header of the ball,” a source told the Siya crew.
Khaukanani’s agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, of Rush Hour Sports Management says the player is focused on continuing with his progress at Stars.
“All I can say is that the player belongs to Free State Stars. He has a job to do at Free State Stars,” said Mulovhedzi.
