It sounds like Orlando Pirates are considering to part ways with one of the foreign stars in the team’s current squad.
Initially, Pirates placed Felipe Ovono on transfer list last month, before deciding to take him off the list last week.
The Buccaneers currently have Ovono (Equatorial Guinea), Edwin Gyimah (Ghana), Tendai Ndoro (Zimbabwe), Bernard Morrison (Ghana) and Issa Sarr (Senegal) filling up their allocated five foreign spots for next season’s squad.
Indications are that Bucs could decide to use only four of their five foreign quota spots and leave one space unallocated for a future signing.
It is believed that Sarr is the foreign star that could be sacrificed, if the need to keep one spot vacant remains the plan.
Sarr joined Pirates from Platinum Stars in 2014 and has been one of the influential players for the team, operating from the central midfield role.
However, the Senegalese international could find himself having to change clubs, should there be a need for changes in Muhsin Ertugral’s team for the new season.
