The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that Moroka Swallows have been charged for contravening football rules.
The Siya crew broke the news last week on Wednesday that Swallows might be in trouble with the league, after their scheduled NFD game with Santos at the Dobsonville Stadium was called off.
The PSL has issued a disciplinary committee update confirming that Swallows have been charged.
“The Premier Soccer League has charged NFD club, Moroka Swallows FC with contravening Rule 53 of the NSL after they failed, as the home club, to provide adequate security ahead of their fixture against Santos on 28 October 2015.
“This resulted in the fixture being abandoned. Moroka Swallows FC will appear in front of the PSL Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday, 04 November 2015,” the league said in a statement.
The Dube Birds are 14th on the NFD log with two wins in nine games.
