Maritzburg United haven’t enjoyed the greatest amount of luck when it comes to injuries so far this season.
New signing Nhlanhla Vilakazi was ruled out with a long term knee injury in the pre-season, while David Booysen is also out injured for a lengthy spell.
Another new signing, Ashley Hartog, is also battling with injury although he could be set to return to action in the near future.
Delron Buckley has also battled with injury through the early part of the campaign and suffered another setback in United’s last match against University of Pretoria.
Team of Choice Commercial Manager, Younus Kadodia, updated the Siya crew about some of the injured players.
He said, “Nhlanhla Vilakazi and David Booysen will be out for the next couple of months or so. Both are recovering from knee surgery. The latest setback is obviously Delron Buckley, he tweaked his hamstring after coming on against Tuks in our last game.”
“Ashley Hartog is close to coming back. He could be in contention for the game against Kaizer Chiefs on 14 September. We’re still determining how long he could be out for at the moment,” he added.
