Kaizer Chiefs’ multi-million Rand offer for Sibusiso Vilakazi has been turned down, as the midfielder’s future is again the subject of much speculation, following the end of the 2015/16 season.
In recent seasons, the Bidvest Wits player has been a transfer target for the PSL’s big guns, including Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
With Chiefs reshuffling their squad and making a number of changes to Steve Komphela’s team, Vilakazi is among the players targeted for a move to Naturena during the off-season.
The Amakhosi have tabled a R6 million offer for ‘Vila’, but according to Siya sources the offer has been rejected. Although it seems that Wits are finally willing to sell the Bafana Bafana international, following his immense contribution to the growth of the team in recent seasons, the Meadowlands-born player could be on his way to a destination other than Naturena.
Partizan Belgrade in Serbia have been willing to pay €300 000 (around R5.2 million) for Vilakazi. However, with a R6 million PSL offer rejected, it is highly unlikely that the former PSL Footballer of the Season would go overseas for the Serbian club’s offer.
Sources have indicated that Sundowns are leading the race for the 26-year-old, with the Chloorkop outfit believed to be willing pay huge money plus four players for Vilakazi.
