Soccer Laduma readers had the chance to cast their votes for their player of the 2016/17 season and after the final round, the readers have chosen Kaizer Chiefs’ Siphiwe Tshabalala for the accolade.
Shabba has had an impressive run of form for Amakhosi this season, scoring eight and assisting three goals so far in the 2016/17 campaign.
Apart from being sidelined due to injury, the player has added the much-needed spark in the Glamour Boys’ attacking line, playing alongside the likes of Bernard Parker and George Lebese.
From the initial list of 20 Premier Soccer League players, the 32-year-old came up against Cape Town City’s Lebogang Manyama, Mamelodi Sundowns’ Percy Tau and Khama Billiat, Orlando Pirates Tendai Ndoro and Bidvest Wits’ Gabadinho Mhango in the final round of voting for Soccer Laduma Reader’s Player Of The Season.
However, despite Manyama claiming most of the Absa Premiership awards for Player of the Month after his outstanding form for the Mother City-based club, our readers have chosen Tshabalala as their Soccer Laduma Readers’ Player Of The Season.
Be sure to check out next week's edition of Soccer Laduma, where we will announce the Soccer Laduma Player of the Season.
