Ahead of the football restart this weekend, one of the top-flight clubs is struggling to make a call on which one of their five technical team members to appoint head coach!
Black Leopards were dealt a major blow to their quest for survival in the Absa Premiership a week ago when Alan Clark resigned with immediate effect to pursue what he described as a lifetime opportunity in Europe.
With the remaining six league matches now a must-win scenario for Leopards, the club's general manager suggested Clark's backroom staff would help see out the season.
"We don't have a head coach," Tshifhiwa Thidiela told the Siya crew.
"Everyone at the club adds value and contributes and that will be the case for the remaining games. We have (Mongezi) Bobe, Morgan (Shivambu), Samuel (Banda), Sthembiso (Masondo) and Phathu (Ramunenyiwa) and all of them were sitting on the bench with Alan and even before that because they had a role to play."
Shivambu is the Leopards assistant coach, while Banda is goalkeeper coach, Masondo the physiotherapist and Ramunenyiwa the team doctor.
Bobe, who captained Lidoda Duvha during his playing days, was not listed on the official team sheet recently or in their last game before lockdown.
Thidiela has confirmed then that he will be part of the technical team for the remaining six league matches, starting with a clash against Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium, their "home" venue in Gauteng, where the bio-bubble is situated.
Pressed on who would then give players instructions or do media interviews if there is "no head coach", the Leopards official bizarrely insisted that it would be a collective effort and they would decide amongst themselves who conducts interviews.
