Absa Premiership Report: Free State Stars v Ajax Cape Town 02 November 2016

Bantu Mzwakali

Absa Premiership   Result: Free State Stars 1-1 Ajax Cape Town   Date: 02 November 2016   Venue: Goble Park Stadium   Free State Stars and Ajax Cape Town remain winless in the Absa Premiership, after playing out a 1-1 draw at Goble Park on Wednesday evening.   View The PSL Table   After a slow start, The Urban Warriors broke the deadlock after 22 minutes when Bantu Mzwakali scored direct from a free-kick, 1-0.   Ajax had goalkeeper, Jody February to thank for keeping the home side at bay in the opening 45 minutes, as he produced a couple fine saves to deny Stars.   The Mother City outfit continued to push another goal before the break, but the likes Ndiviwe Mdabuka and Prince Nxumalo failed to direct their efforts on target.   However, Ea Lla Koto managed to level matters shortly after the halftime break when Goodman Dlamini fired past February.   Stanley Menzo opted for a change after the hour-mark, as Mark Mayambela replaced Travis Graham as they searched for a winning goal.   The Urban Warriors should have broken the deadlock after 74 minutes when Nxumalo was left one-on-one with Thela Ngobeni, but the striker failed to convert.   Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but were unable to find the all important winner and were forced to share the spoils.   View The PSL Results   Here's how they lined up:   Free State Stars: 42. Ngobeni, 5. Masehe, 6. Nkausu, 24. Tlhone, 50. Vilakazi, 42. Mobbie, 8. Venter, 23. Sekola, 26. Dlamini, 19. Mbhele, 7. Sekotlong.   Ajax Cape Town: 30. February, 27. Pietersen, 3. Coetzee, 26.
