Former Pirates Coach Victorious In Belgium
Former Orlando Pirates assistant coach, Chris O’Loughlin, has helped guide Belgian side, Sint Truidense VV, to the Second Division title.
O’Loughlin, who worked at Pirates back in 2007 before going on to spend a spell as head coach of AS Vita, is currently the assistant at STVV, who managed to secure victory this past weekend.
The side is currently top of Belgium’s second tier with one game to go, however are six points clear of second placed Lommel United.
Former Bafana Bafana striker, Benni McCarthy, recently had a short stint with STVV as he continues his UEFA coaching badges, with the former Buccaneer now close to completing his A licence.
McCarthy will have been happy to spend some time with a club that is truly on the up, and may well head back there at some stage while he continues his education as a coach and goes on to do his Pro Licence.
