Coaches Who Needed Police Escorts Off The Field

Coaches Who Needed Police Escorts Off The Field

Zeca Marques & Moroka Swallows Team

Just last night, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela had to be escorted off the field by police after his side fell to a 1-1 draw with Platinum Stars, but he isn't the only coach this has happened to. Can you think of others?

The Glamour Boys slumped to their third game without a victory in the 2016/17 campaign, meaning they have recorded just one win in the space of 16 competitive fixtures.

The fans are disappointed with club's displays in recent months, but as their moods reached boiling point, the police thought it would be right to intervene and make sure Komphela reached the changing room without any trouble.

The same couldn't be said for former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Johan Neeskens, however, as he had missiles, a vuvuzela in particular, thrown at him after the club lost 2-0 to Moroka Swallows a few years ago.

Sadly, these aren't the only two incidents of this kind that have occurred in South African football…
