Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda attended training with his new teammates for the first time today.
As reported by the Siya crew, the Ghana and former Ashanti Gold SC shot-stopper signed a deal with Bucs last week.
With Moeneeb Josephs' contract seemingly not being renewed, Dauda is expected to compete with Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa and Brighton Mhlongo for the number one jersey.
“Yes, I can confirm that Dauda started training with us today," Pirates spokesman Mickey Modisane told the Siya crew.
Pirates are also expected to conclude a deal with last year’s Ghanaian Premier League top goal scorer, and Dauda’s teammate at Ashanti Gold, Yakubu Mohammed.
Mohammed was expected to arrive at Pirates today, however Modisane informed Soccer-Laduma that he hasn't arrived yet.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will clash on July 27, with the title of 2013 Carling Black Label Cup champions up for grabs.
