The CAF Champions League semi-final first-leg clash between Cameroonian side Coton Sport and African champions Al Ahly was abandoned due to atrocious weather on Saturday at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
The game had already progressed into the second-half, with the scores locked at 0-0, when a heavy downpour resulted in the game ending early.
Reports claim that the game will be started from scratch but a date for the game to be replayed has yet to be revealed.
Officials arrived at the decision after spending around 30 minutes discussing the possibilities. But with the water making the pitch unplayable, it was decided that the match be abandoned.
Coton Sport had started the game brightly but the Egyptians grew into it and looked the likeliest to score before the game was halted.
